SOLACE SYSTEMS NAMED 2006 CODiE AWARDS FINALIST

3200 Value-Added Services Router Short-Listed in Best Distributed Computing Solution Category

Ottawa , Canada , February 1, 2006 - Solace Systems, the leader in value-added services routing systems, announced today the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) has selected its 3200 Multiservice Message Router as a finalist for the 21st Annual CODiE Awards.

Established in 1986, the CODiE Awards remain the standard-bearer for celebrating outstanding achievement and vision in the software and information industries. Chosen as a finalist from more than 1,026 nominations submitted by over 500 companies in all categories, the Solace 3200 router has clearly become the solution of choice for application-aware networking.

“We are clearly in the midst of two major market changes, the fundamental relationship between applications and networks and the nature of relationships between enterprises and service providers,” said Larry Neumann, vice president of marketing for Solace Systems. “This recognition, as finalist in the distributed computing solution category, further validates that Solace’s unique approach to embedding wire-speed application intelligence directly into service provider networks is at the heart of the next wave in communications.”

Solace Systems’ value-added services routing system is a unique platform for the delivery of new application-level services by carriers. The routing system increases network intelligence by making the network content-aware, giving it the ability to understand the information flowing through it. As enterprises embrace service-oriented architecture and consumers look increasingly to personalize data services, having carriers provide services at the application layer becomes a viable and strategic option.

“The 21st Annual CODiE Awards continue the tradition of honoring the best of the software, information and education technology industries," said Ken Wasch, SIIA president. "When one considers the number of outstanding companies that competed this year, being named a CODiE Awards Finalist is a significant achievement for Solace Systems."

The final round of judging will take place in April with the awards to be presented at a gala event on May 16, 2006 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel, San Francisco, CA.
