Their combined experience has enabled Solace to develop products for intelligent information dissemination across local and wide-area networks in support of key applications and business processes

Craig Betts

Craig Betts

President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Betts founded Solace Systems with the vision of embedding application intelligence directly into networks. Mr. Betts holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Queen’s University.

Rob Steen

Rob Steen

Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Mr. Steen is responsible for all of the company’s legal, human resources and administrative functions.

Prior to joining Solace, Mr. Steen was Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Counsel of Waterfall Networks. Mr. Steen joined Waterfall Networks after practicing corporate and securities law for six years at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt. Mr. Steen is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1996. He holds a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and an MBA in finance from the Schulich School of Business.

Jonathan Bosloy

Jonathan Bosloy

Senior Vice President, Product Development and Operations

Mr. Bosloy is responsible for all aspects of product development, including engineering, product management and QA. Mr. Bosloy has also been responsible for spearheading the rapidly expanding portfolio of patents covering the company’s intellectual property.

Prior to Solace, Mr. Bosloy was director of systems at Ceyba, a developer of optical networking equipment, and held senior engineering roles on ATM and IP products at Newbridge Networks. Mr. Bosloy graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor’s degree in Systems and Computer Engineering.

Denis King

Denis King

Senior Vice President, Global Field Operations and Strategic Alliances

Mr. King is responsible for ensuring customer success from a technical and operational perspective, both as a routine part of Solace’s relationships with its customers and through partnerships and professional services engagements.

As the first systems engineer at Solace, Mr. King was instrumental in helping early customers plan and deploy content-aware networking solutions. Prior to joining Solace, Mr. King designed IP Routers, ATM Switches and control plane infrastructure at Newbridge Networks. Mr. King holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick.

Larry Neumann

Larry Neumann

Senior Vice President, Marketing

Mr. Neumann is responsible for all aspects of strategic, corporate, product and vertical marketing.

Before Solace, Mr. Neumann held executive marketing positions with TIBCO and Oracle, and co-founded an internet software company called inCommon which was acquired by TIBCO. During his tenure at TIBCO, Mr. Neumann played a key role in planning company strategic direction relating to target markets and candidate acquisitions.

Shawn McAllister

Shawn McAllister

Chief Technology Officer

Mr. McAllister is responsible for deepening Solace’s understanding of requirements and use cases across industries and organizations, evangelizing our unique approach and solutions, and working closely with our customers to identify ways of improving our technology and value proposition.

Prior to joining Solace, Mr. McAllister led software, hardware, and test engineering teams at Newbridge Networks (later Alcatel Canada), where he was responsible for the development of features on ATM and Ethernet switches as well as the 7750 Multiservice IP Router.  Mr McAllister was a regular attendee and contributor to the ATM Forum and co-inventor of several patents in the telecommunications space. Mr. McAllister holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, with majors in both Computer Science and Combinatorics/Optimization.

Sales Operations

Bill Jackes

Bill Jackes

Regional Vice President, North America

Mr. Jackes is responsible for leading the development of customer relationships throughout North America. Mr. Jackes has over 18 years experience in a variety of systems engineering and sales management roles. Most recently Bill led the Solace sales efforts in financial services.

Prior to joining Solace, Mr. Jackes held senior account management positions, most notably with Cisco where he worked extensively in the service provider market supporting large Canadian service providers. Prior to that Mr. Jackes held key account management roles at PixStream until it was acquired by Cisco. Mr. Jackes holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and an MBA from Schulich School of Business at York University.

David Clare

David Clare

Regional Vice President, Europe, Middle East and Africa

Mr. Clare is responsible for the business development and field operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. From working with the largest global enterprises through to small start-up partnerships, Mr. Clare has experience of the widely differing requirements of many types of organizations.

Prior to joining Solace, Mr. Clare held sales and leadership roles with IBM WebSphere, Progress Software (Sonic) and Reuters. Mr. Clare has a Bachelor of Science honours degree from University College Cardiff and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of London.

Crispin Clarke

Crispin Clarke

Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific

Mr. Clarke is responsible for business development activity and field operations in Asia Pacific. Mr. Clarke has 20 years of experience understanding and addressing customer issues in financial services, telecommunications and other industries.

Before joining Solace, Mr. Clarke was regional director for TIBCO Finance in Canada and the Central US. He has held senior positions in the venture capital industry and helped numerous start-ups with business and sales strategies. Mr. Clarke holds a Bachelor of Science honors degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Bath and a Masters Certificate in management from the University of Warwick.
